The EL F controllers are new to the family. Not only do they offer everything the Gen 2 controller has to offer in terms of control and safety, but they also offer integrated, intelligent fan control based on a PID algorithm:
- Intelligent PID fan control
- Independent sunrise and sunset settings
- Independent light cycles on the EL2
0-10V EC fan control
Modern EC fans contain a brushless DC motor driven by a controllable electronic driver. They offer a wide control range while maintaining power, torque and static pressure with much lower energy consumption. Although they are more expensive than the traditional AC fans, their precise speed control and torque retention result in much better and quieter control of the airflow.
You no longer need separate high-performance speed controllers to control your extraction and intake fans: this small smart controller can control them all more precisely, quietly and with much better performance. Whether you want to move 1 cf/s or 1,000 cf/s, this controller can handle EC fans of any size.
Independent Cycles on EL2 Models
On our first generation, the EL2 models had a "follow" or "inverse" feature that allows you to "flip/flop" the two connectors for a large room or two flower rooms in a 12/12 cycle. This is still possible, but now you can program the two channels of an EL2 completely separately. You can program two different and overlapping cycles, such as a 12/12 on channel 1 and an 18/2 on channel 2
Switching, dimming and amplification centrally
Now you have complete control over the light cycle and output of your lights from a single point. Never reach a ballast again!
Gen 2 Improvements
- Intelligent PID Fan Control - PID control reduces temperature fluctuations and is self-learning. The result is a stable temperature in your grow room and a quieter fan.
- 0-10V EC Fan Control - Modern EC fans have a much wider control range while maintaining power, torque, and static pressure, and consume much less energy. This small, smart controller allows you to control your extraction and intake fans for greater precision and greatly reduced noise - with better performance.
- Memory - All master controllers use reliable, non-volatile memory to store user settings.
- Logging – All master controllers now have logging capabilities for high/low temperature, last auto-dim event, last shutdown event, and last power failure, including date and time of the event
- Separate sunrise/sunset control - Set different time periods for sunrise and sunset
- Independent Cycles on EL2 Models - These cycles allow you to program two different overlapping cycles (e.g. a 12/12 on channel 1 and an 18/6 on channel 2).
- Independent Programmable External Contactor Modules (ECMs) - In Generation 2 EL2 controllers, you can now choose whether to turn them on or off and which ?? channel they follow. The results? Flexible integration and automation.
Simple
The master controllers are extremely easy to set up. The two-line green OLED display is sharp and easy to read even in high-intensity environments. All menu items are in plain text. The 4-button controls of the menu system are intuitive. A special fifth button is added to adjust the output of your devices directly. Red and blue LEDs show you the output status of your controller ports and give you a quick overview of any errors.
The wiring system is plug and play with all the cables you already need in every E-Series unit. The manual describes how to make custom cables for each length. Different lengths of control cables are available as original Gavita accessories.
The controller can be easily mounted with the included bracket. You only need two screws to install it, and the controller will snap into place. This gives you easy access to the wiring at the bottom of the controller.
Sure
The most important and valuable features of the master controller are the temperature safety features. Your lights will automatically dim if your air conditioner is no longer able to maintain the right temperature. Or even turn off your lights when a maximum temperature is reached. These features have already saved many harvests!
The control signal is a safe, analog and low-voltage signal, and the controller is protected from signal linkages in the wiring. Wiring errors don't kill your controller.
Last but not least, the EL2F provides you with alarm contacts (NO and NC) that allow you to seamlessly integrate your controller into your alarm and monitoring systems. In the event of an accident (power outage, emergency shutdown, or sensor failure), the alarm contacts are switched to inform you that you need to take action.
Flexible
Whether you're controlling two or 1000 devices, the master controller will get the job done. By default, each output channel can control 40 devices (Single Bus E Series) up to 500 devices (Repeater Bus E Series) without the need to add booster modules.
The EL2F offers even more features. The dual output connectors allow you to connect our ECM units, which allow you to switch auxiliary devices such as CO2 units and heaters during the on/off time.
We offer a wide range of original Gavita accessories, from a booster to expand the number of single bus E-Series headlights, each with 200 headlights, to cables, splitters and long lead temperature sensors.
The anodized aluminum extrusion housing is robust and compact. No more standard gray plastic installation boxes with overstuffed buttons and lights. The controller is compact, clean and some even find it sexy.
